The main shareholders in Abacus Medicine A/S nominate Jens Harsaae as new Chairman of the Board.

Jens Harsaae is being nominated as new Chairman of Abacus Medicine A/S by the main shareholders, Wagner Family Holding ApS (approx. 58% ownership) and Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker Aktieselskab (approx. 35% ownership), when the company conducts its annual general meeting on 15 March.
The current Chairman of the Board, Niels Smedegaard, will not be seeking re-election. Niels Smedegaard has served as Chairman since 2020.
Niels Smedegaard states: “The Abacus Medicine Group has just announced its best annual results ever, so I think I can safely pass on the baton. With Jens Harsaae, the main shareholders have chosen to nominate a long-standing, well-liked and very skilled member of the board for the position as Chairman.”
Jens Harsaae is a professional board member and chairman. He has been a member of the board of Abacus Medicine A/S since 2017. Previously, he was Marketing Director at Procter & Gamble Western Europe, and Partner and Managing Director of the Boston Consulting Group in Denmark.
Jens Harsaae states: “I’m honoured by the nomination from the main shareholders, and I look forward to continuing my contribution to creating better access to medicine and developing the Abacus Medicine Group.”
Abacus Medicine also thanks board member Michala Fischer-Hansen for her service. Michala Fischer-Hansen will not be running again as she wishes to focus on her new position as Executive Vice President of Lundbeck.
Following the annual general meeting on 15 March 2024, the board will initiate the process for bringing in new members with valuable expertise.

Jens Harsaae joined the Board of Directors of Abacus Medicine in 2017.
Jens is a professional board member with a portfolio of positions as Chair or non-executive board member in private equity or privately owned companies and start-ups. Previously, he was a Partner and the Managing Director for Boston Consulting Group in Denmark, and Marketing Director for Procter & Gamble Western Europe. He holds an M.Sc. (Econ) from Aarhus School of Business.
